Even as the Ysr Congress Party cadres partook in plethora of service activities across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana on the eve of Dr.Y.S.Rajasekhara Reddy’s fifth Vardhanti on Tuesday, party senior leaders and activists rededicated themselves to work for the ideals propagated and implemented by the late Chief Minister for the welfare of the poorer sections of society.
Several senior leaders including MP Mekapati Rajamohana Reddy, Konatala Ramakrishna, Ummareddy Venkateswarlu, Gattu Ramachandra Rao and Vijayasai Reddy paid floral tributes to YSR at the party central office here and called upon cadres to work for the economic and social betterment of the downtrodden.
On the occasion, leaders and activists donated blood and distributed books and cheques to the poor school children at the party office. Similar social service activities were taken up by the party cadres in several towns in the two states.
Senior leaders Konatala Ramakrishna and Vijayasai Reddy were among those who donated blood on the occasion at the party headquarters.
Party MLAs and senior leaders also garlanded the statue of YSR at the Panjagutta cross roads and paid floral tributes to his portrait in the YSR Congress Legislature Party office in the assembly.
Speaking on the occasion, MP Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy said that it is the pertinent wish of the Ysr Congress Party that the two states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana should develop in all respects and Telugu people live in happiness despite all that has happened.
“Our Party president Sri Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy is only aspiring for the development of the two states and the welfare of all Telugu people, wherever they are. Led by him, we will all work for that cause,” he declared.
Telugu people in the two states are feeling the great void created by the death of YSR. “It can never be filled,” he remarked, recalling the services of YSR.
Ummareddy Venkateswarlu said despite the win of the TDP in the elections, YSRCP is still enjoying the mass popularity in both the states and will work for the emancipation of poorer sections of the society.
Konatala Ramakrishna said taking YSR as their role model; several states implemented the YSR welfare schemes. “We shall rededicate ourselves to the service of the society and the ideals of YSR.”
While Gattu Ramachandra Rao recalled that YSR ruled the united AP giving equal importance to all regions and communities, Vijaya Sai Reddy said equal justice was done to all sections of society during YSR regime.
