Almost two months after taking over the charge as Chief Ministers of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, N Chandrababu Naidu and K Chandrasekhar Rao respectively, shook hands for the first time on Saturday.

The occasion was arrival of President of India Pranab Mukherjee at Begumpet Airport here on Saturday. They exchanged greetings while shaking hands in the presence of Governor ESL Narasimhan. They also posed for pictures for the media. Later, they received the President who reached here to attend the convocation of NALSAR University.

This is the first occasions when both the Chief Ministers were seen on a common platform. It may be mentioned that Kcr did not invite Naidu for his swearing-in-ceremony on June 2 and he also did not participate in Naidu's swearing-in-ceremony. Union Minister M Venkaiah Naidu has reportedly played a key role in ensuring that both Naidu and Kcr break the ice. Earlier on Saturday, he separately visited both the Chief Ministers at their camp offices and requested them to resolve the differences.
