The first budget session of Andhra Pradesh State Legislative Assembly is likely to be convened from August 16.
According to sources, Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnu will present the first budget of residuary State of Andhra Pradesh on August 18. Unlike 40-day long budget sessions of united Andhra Pradesh, the duration of forthcoming budget session may be comparatively short.
It was on May 18, when Governor ESL Narasimhan has approved the authorisation of expenditure fund of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana states for a period of four months from June 2. A budget of Rs 34,595 crore was approved for Andhra Pradesh which included Rs. 28,626 crore as the Revenue budget while Rs 3,882 crore was the Capital budget.
Similarly, a budget of Rs 26, 516 crore was approved for Telangana State. It included Rs 21,295 crore as the Revenue budget and Rs 3,046 crore as the Capital budget.
