Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu on Friday sought the cooperation of all legislators to ensure fast pace growth and development of the residuary State.
Addressing the orientation programmes of Andhra Pradesh legislators here, Naidu said that the AP needs to be build from scratch. He said Andhra Pradesh is the only State in the country with no capital, no funds and no clarity on other resources. However, he hoped that Telugu speaking people would build a strong State and Andhra Pradesh would be counted among the most progressive States in the country. To achieve the goal, he said all legislators, across party lines should support the government. He said that people had high expectations from the legislators and they should play their part in the development of the State.
The Chief Minister said that the legislators should do their home work well and they should ensure constructive debates in the House.
AP Legislative Assembly Speaker Kodela Sivaprasada Rao advised the legislators to learn to behave properly in the House. He said that the legislators should make a good impression of themselves among the people and live telecast of Assembly proceedings play an important role in doing the same. He assured that he would give equal opportunity for all the legislators to speaking in the House.
Union Minister M Venkaiah Naidu delivered a talk on "Changing role of legislators in modern times - A critical approach". While former Secretary General of Lok Sabha Subhash Kashyap spoke on 'Parliamentary Procedures and Practices', former CAG Vinod Roy delivered a lecture on 'Public Account Committee - A vigilant eye on expenditure'.
