Telangana Political Joint Action Committee chairman Prof. M Kodandaram has accused the BJP-led Central Government of creating a rift among Telangana and Andhra Pradesh States over the Polavaram Project issue.
Speaking to media persons here, Kondandaram said that the Polavaram Bill was unscientific and aimed at rendering injustice to Telangana region. He said that the TPJAC would strongly oppose the Polavaram project with its present design. He said that the project would only benefit the contractors while the farmers would not gain anything out of it. Strongly opposing the merger of seven mandals of Khammam into Seemandhra, he said that the TPJAC would not allow the Centre to give away even an inch of Telangana land to other States.
Kondandaram said that the Saturday's bandh was successful and thanked people for their cooperation.
