Cong protests vandalisation of statues of Potti Sriramulu,Rajiv

Hyderabad,Dec 1 (INN):The Congress leaders across the state staged dharnas on Tuesday protesting against the demolition of statues of  Potti Sriramulu and Rajiv Gandhi by unknown vandals.The leaders staged dharna in Khammam district protesting against the demolition of statues of Potti Sriramulu at Bollerugudem in Palvancha and at PSR Centre.

Unidentified vandals on Monday night are reported to have smashed the statues of Sriramulu,who sacrificed his life for the formation of Andhra Pradesh. Meanwhile,unidentified miscreants also demolished the statue of former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi in Odela in Karimnagar district and that of former MLA P Janardhan Reddy in Kukatpally and Jagadgirigutta in Hyderabad.Condemning the demolition of the Rajiv Gandhi statue at Odela, the Congress activists said the police had been asked to arrest the culprits under the Goonda Act.
