Describing the death of party leader Bhaskar Reddy in Giddaluru of Prakasam district as a state sponsored murder, YSR Congress has said that TDP has been resorting to vindictive politics and it will represent the matter to Governor seeking his intervention.
“The vindictive nature of TDP government has come to the fore with the suspension of an Sub-Inspector in Krishna district for arresting a TDP worker following complaint by YSRCP cadre, while in Giddalur our party leader was mercilessly beaten up by the police resulting in his death and it is a state-sponsored violence,” party spokesperson Vasireddy Padma told reporters here on Monday.
“Our Party President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy told on the floor of the assembly that YSRCP leaders and cadre were being targeted by TDP with the help of official machinery as there were 17 murders of our party workers and more than 110 persons were injured, 40 of them seriously, after TDP took over the reins,” she alleged.
The new state has become a police raj and Chandrababu Naidu instead of condemning the incident seems to be encouraging the elimination of political adversaries as no action has been taken so far on the concerned police officers despite, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy highlighting in the state assembly about the witch-hunt of YSRCP workers for not voting in favour of TDP, she said. “The bloody history of the new state will not go well with the people as they are already disgusted with the failure of government on all fronts. Farmers are worried about the kharif and loan waiver and Naidu instead of his promise of develop the sate into a Singapore is turning it into a strife-torn state,” she said.
The pattern of discrimination and bias has been the same while Chandrababu Naidu has been the Chief Minister on the previous occasion with ration cards, houses and other benefits going only to TDP cadre.
The Chief Minister’s words and deeds have a clear signal to the official machinery of the discrimination he has in mind as the YSRCP leader was beaten up at Giddaluru when he went to Police Station for talks. No case, no FIR, he was badly beaten up and died due to injuries and trauma. We will apprise the Governor ESL Narasimhan of the situation prevailing in the state and the state-sponsored violence targeting political adversaries, she said adding that such incidents are a blot on the democracy.
