Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao on Monday appealed to the employees to play an active role in the development of Telangana State.
Addressing the State-level review meeting at Jal Soudha at Erramanzil here, Harish Rao said that farmers have lot of expectations and hopes on the TRS Government. He said that the government could not achieve anything without the active support and involvement of employees. Therefore, he said that the employees should play their role in the development of new State.
Harish Rao said that the TRS Government would never initiate high-profile schemes like Jalayagnam which did not yield any direct benefit to the farmers. However, he said that the government would take practical measures to help the farmers. He asked the irrigation department employees to focus on conservation of water.
The minister said that the government, officials and employees should feel accountable and answerable to the people.
