Its people's victory, says Naidu

Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu on Monday described his party's performance in the municipal elections in Seemandhra region as "people victory".

Speaking to media persons after the declaration of results of municipal elections, he thanked the voters for supporting the TDP in the elections held for municipal corporations, municipalities and panchayat bodies. He expressed happiness over winning 62 out of 92 municipalities in the region. The YSRCP has won 21 municipalities in the region.

Naidu gave the credit of victory to the party cadre and leader who successfully campaigned against the YSRCP and other parties. Describing it as a historic win, he said people have rejected the corrupt leaders and voted for development in Seemandhra region. He said that the TDP's performance in Telangana was not good due to the sentiment that Congress has granted statehood for the region.
