TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu has accused the YSR Congress Party of using violence to win the elections in Seemandhra region.
Speaking to media persons at his residence in Jubilee Hills here on Thursday, Naidu alleged that the YSRCP resorted to violence and hired anti-social elements to influence the voters. He also alleged that the YSRCP used fake currency notes, spurious liquor and other illegal means during election campaign. "The rowdism which was confined to Pulivendula has now spread to entire Andhra Pradesh," he said adding five persons died after consuming spurious liquor supplied by YSRCP leaders.
The TDP chief praised his party workers for withstanding and peacefully countering the YSRCP's violent drive in Seemandhra region. He alleged that the YSRCP even tried to drop the polling percentage fearing defeat. He expressed confidence that the TDP would win 120 to 130 Assembly seats and 20 to 22 Lok Sabha seats in the elections.
Naidu informed that he had written a letter to the Election Commission of India seeking repoll in nine villages under Jammalamadugu mandal. He alleged that YSRCP acvitists rigged the elections using force. He also requested the Election Commission to take appropriate measures to avoid any untoward incident.
