Mocking at TDP president Chandrababu Naidu’s offer to appoint two deputy CMs from BC and Kapu communities, YSR Congress party has asserted on Monday that Naidu has made the jittery offer aiming at their votes as he is haunted by the fear of defeat in the elections.
“Naidu’s offer on Deputy CM post, which has no constitutional sanctity, is akin to the CM aspirant-character in Dasari Narayana Rao’s satirical movie ‘MLA Edukondalu’ who offers Chief Deputy CM post for a rival MLA to defect to his side to facilitate his becoming CM,” YSRCP spokesperson Vasireddy Padma told reporters here.
“Naidu’s gimmickry of using the Deputy CM card for votes and seats will not curry favour with the Kapus and BCs who are solidly backing YSR Congress party,” she said. “If you are so sincere about the offer, why didn’t you give proper representation to BCs and Kapus in the allotment of tickets first of all?,” she asked adding that the two communities will not fall prey to Naidu’s fake promises.
Padma said Naidu has offered CM post to BCs in Telangana where TDP is going to be defeated and Deputy CM posts for BCs and Kapus in Seemandhra where his party’s count will not reach even a double digit.
Taking umbrage of remarks by TDP-backed BC leaders that YSRCP president Jagan Mohan Reddy has had no administrative experience, Padma retorted saying that leaders like Jayalalita, Naveen Patnayak and NTR also had no experience before they became CMs. “Even BJP’s Prime Ministerial candidate Modi also had no experience before becoming the CM. Jagan Mohan Reddy has had the experience of taking on bigwigs like Sonia and others,” she said.
