Hyderabad,Nov 23:The voters should exercise their franchise according to their conscience in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation elections,stated actor-turned-politician and Praja Rajyam founder K Chiranjeevi.After casting his vote at a polling station at Jubilee Hills here on Monday,Chiranjeevi said the elections had given the voters an opportunity to send the ‘right’ person to the Corporation,which should be properly utilised.He alleged that some candidates were trying to lure voters with money and liquor and such persons should be taught a fitting lesson by the electorate.Expressing confidence over the winning chances of PRP candidates,the actor said the party would sweep the GHMC elections.
He said if all the voters cast their votes properly,the society could be transfoprmed altogether and it would benefit all.Meanwhile,State Election Commission Commissioner A V S Reddy said the Commission took all possible precautions to conduct the elections in a free and fair manner.Exercising his franchise at Jubilee hills polling station,Reddy said the Commission has not received any complaints of irregularities in the conduct of GHMC elections till now.He also called upon voters to exercise their franchise honestly and in a free and fair manner.
