Hyderabad,Nov 21: Comparing the mining mafia in the state to that of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim’s in Mumbai, Telugu Desam Legislature Party Leader N Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday lashed out at the State Government for its failure to suspend mining lease allotted to the Obulapuram Mining Company owned by Karnataka Cabinet Minister and powerful BJP leader Gali Janardhan Reddy.Talking to media persons at the party office over the Supreme Court appointed Central Empowered Committee Report which was delivered on Friday,Naidu demanded that Chief Minister K Rosaiah hang himself in shame for the apex court found fault with the state government for failure to initiate action against the illegal mining.
Expressing concern over the mining mafia in the state, he urged the government to take stringent action against the Omc for indulging in illegal mining activities besides encroaching upon reserved forests. He alleged that the Gali brothers were looting mineral wealth of the state to the tune of Rs 10 crore a day by exporting 3,000 ton of iron ore.He also questioned the role of the government and that of the officials in extending mining lease to Omc and in shielding the illegal mining done by the Company in the forest areas outside the approved mining leases. He also questioned as to why the government did not extend its support when the DFO started investigating the encroachments in mineral rich areas outside the mining leases and the large-scale illegal mining in unallotted reserved forests.
