Chandrababu calls for a detailed probe against OMC

Hyderabad, Nov 19: Telugu Desam party chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu Reacting wildly against Karnataka Tourism Minister Gali  Janardhan Reddy for filing a contempt of court case against him demanded a multi-disciplinary probe into alleged irregularities by the Obulapuram Mining Corporation (OMC).Interacting with the press here on Thursday he said, a detailed  probe alone will expose all the irregularities of OMC.Irked by the high court’s orders that the OMC can continue its mining operations Chandrababu demanded the Government to stop mining in Anantapur district, where the company operates.

At the same  time the government should suspend all mining leases, confiscate iron ore and keep all relevant files with the assembly speaker to prevent tampering.Chandrababu  alleged  that  OMC was not only involved in illegal mining in both Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka but also violated FERA (foreign exchange regulation act) as well as laws relating to mining, forests and environment apart from evading the taxes.Passing spurious comments on Gali Janardhana Reddy, Chandrababu said that Gali was nothing in 2004 but became powerful with the support of the then YSR government and earned Rs.10,000 crore by indulging in irregularities.
