BJP National Vice-President Bandaru Dattatreyya on Friday claimed that Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh has accepted his three major failures.

In a media statement, the BJP leader said that the Prime Minister, during his press conference at New Delhi on Friday, has accepted that his government has failed to curb corruption and scandals during his nine-and-a-half year tenure, price rise and failure in increase employment generation. "Even then he expects that future history will judge his performance. When a gentleman accepts his failures owing on morality, he should step down rather than continuing as the Prime Minister," he said.

"While accepting his failures, the PM is again hopeful that the 2014 elections would be in favour of Congress, which is self contradictory and self-defeating. It is the biggest joke of the New Year 2014. If the Congress party is so confident of winning the 2014 elections, why is it afraid of declaring Rahul Gandhi as its Prime Ministerial candidate," Dattatreyya said.

The BJP leader condemned the Prime Minister's statment wherein he described BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi as “destructive. He said that the PM's statement was misleading and amounts to mudslinging on Narendra Modi's popularity.
