CM will quit politics after AP's bifurcation: Lagadapati

Congress MP from Vijayawada Lagadapati Rajagopal on Sunday claimed that Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy would quit politics if Andhra Pradesh gets bifurcated.

Speaking to media persons here, Lagadapati reiterated that he would quit politics after bifurcation. Similarly, several senior leaders including the Chief Minister would quit politics if the State gets divided. He demanded that the opinion of majority people should be respected in a democracy. However, he said that the Centre was not doing the same in case of Telangana formation.

Lagadapati also claimed that 95 per cent legislators would oppose the Telangana Bill if it was put to voting in the State Legislative Assembly. He said only five members were in favour of State's division while all others were opposing it, openly or covertly. He also praised the Samaikhyandhra campaign launched by different groups including the APNGOs.
