Shankar Rao seeks probe into JC's assets

Former minister Dr P Shankar Rao on Tuesday demanded a CBI probe into the assets of former minister JC Diwakar Reddy.

Speaking to media persons at the Congress Legislature Party office here, Shankar Rao alleged that Diwakar Redddy accumulated crores of rupees of wealth through illegal means. He said that the government should order a CBI probe into JC's assets. Else, he said that he would approach the High Court seeking a probe into JC's disproportionate assets.

Asking Diwakar Reddy to tender an unconditional apology to Congress president Sonia Gandhi, Shankar Rao said that people of Tadipatri would teach him a fitting lesson in the next elections. Giving a caste-twist to JC's remarks, he said the Congress party and Nehru-Gandhi family enjoys the support of 29 per cent minorities in the country, he said that party was not dependent on the support of Reddys alone.
