TRS to support Special Package for Seemandhra

The Telangana Rashtra Samithi has announced its full support to the special package for the Seemandhra region.

Talking to reporters here, TRS Secretary-General K Keshav Rao said that the TRS was in favour of speedy and full-fledged development of Seemandhra region after the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh. Therefore, he said that the TRS would support a special package for the region. He ridiculed the demand for compensation for Seemandhra in case of bifurcation. He said that it was the Telangana region which met with injustice on all fronts. Therefore, if any compensation has to be paid, then the Centre should pay compensation to the Telangana region.

Condemning Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy's statement that he would stop the "bifurcation typhoon", Keshava Rao said that Telangana was a Tsunami and anyone who tries to stop it would be washed away. He also advised the ministers from Telangana region to quit the cabinet of a Chief Minister who repeatedly opposed bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh.
