Union Minister Killi Kruparani on Thursday said that the division of Andhra Pradesh was inevitable as the Centre has already initiated the process at the highest level.

Talking to reporters after meeting Congress president Sonia Gandhi here, Kruparani said that the process of State's bifurcation could not be stopped. Therefore, she said there was no point talking about keeping the State united to mislead the people. However, she that the concerns of people in Seemandhra would be conveyed to the Group of Ministers (GoM) on Telangana, to ensure that the region does not meet with injustice.

Stating that resignations of Union Ministers and MPs from the posts would serve no purpose, she said that she would meet the GoM on October 18-19 to submit her detailed representation.

Earlier, she submitted a representation to the UPA Chairperson seeking Centre's assistance in providing relief for the "Phailin" cyclone-hit people in North-Coastal Andhra districts. While assuring help, Sonia advised Kriparani to also meet Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh on the issue.
