Seemandhra ministers want Central Committee to visit State

Finance Minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy on Tuesday demanded that a committee of Central Government visit Andhra Pradesh to assess the situation that aroused over the proposed bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh.

Talking to reporters after Seemandhra ministers met at his residence here, Anam said that a Central Committee should visit the State immediately to interact with the people who have been agitation since the Congress Working Committee announced its decision on formation of Telangana about two months ago. He said that the ongoing agitation in Seemandhra region was people's movement and their protest has brought the administration to a halt. He said that the members of AK Antony Committee themselves should witness the agitation and interact with the activists.

Anam said that the Congress leaders from Seemandhra region would go forward with the slogan "Save Andhra Pradesh, Save Congress party". He reiterated that the Congress party alone was not responsible for the decision on State's bifurcation. He said that almost all political parties have supported Telangana and took a U-turn after the CWC announced its decision.

Stating that peace and normalcy should be restored in the State, Anam said that the Centre should work out a solution to end the ongoing crisis.

Besides ministers Vatti Vasanth Kumar, C Ramchandraiah, Maheedhar Reddy and other ministers, Union Minister K Chiranjeevi also participated in the meeting. Besides discussin the present situation, the Seemandhra ministers also discussed the future strategy to be adopted.
