Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandhrasekhar Rao on Sunday announced that his party and other groups would not stop agitation till they achieve "Sampoorna Telangana" with 10 districts and Hyderabad as its capital.
Addressing the Sakala Janula Bheri public meeting at Nizam College Grounds, Kcr said that there would be no compromise on Telangana and it should be formed at the earliest. He asked the UPA Government at the Centre not to get carried away with the "fake" Samaikhyandhra protests.
Kcr also demanded that Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy resign from his post for openly favouring Samaikhyandhra. He questioned as to how Kiran Kumar Reddy could speak on behalf of only one region while ignoring the injustices done to Telangana in the last several decades. He described the Chief Minister as chairman of "Samaikhyandhra JAC" and predicted that he would be ousted from his post in October.
The TRS chief said that the Centre should give package to Telangana State along with Seemandhra. Granting of National Project status to Palamuru and Pranahita-Chevella projects; establishmed of IIM in Telangana; All India Medical Sciences centre in the region and other demands would have to be fulfilled by the centre. He said Telangana region has been suffering from injustices for the last several decades and it deserves more compensation and packages than other regions. He said that pro-Telangana activists would continue their struggle till the formation of "Sampoorna Telangana" and then its re-formation.
Kcr also slammed TDP Chief N Chandrababu Naidu for adopting dual standard on Telangana issue. Condemning Naidu's bus yatra, he said that the TDP chief never went to people when hundreds of youth in Telangana region committed suicide. He also ridiculed YSRCP president Jagan Mohan Reddy's demand for equal justice for all regions. He said when there was no justice for Telangana, then how could there be equal justice.
The TRS president said that the formation of Telangana was inevitable due to political compulsions at the Centre. He said if not the UPA, then there would be another government that would give Telangana. Therefore, he asked the UPA to hasten the process of Telangana formation.
The meeting was also addressed by TPJAC chairman Prof M Kondandaram and other leaders representing different political parties.
The entire Nizam College Ground was filled to its capacity while hundreds of others were still standing on adjacent roads.
