Former PCC President D Srinivas on Friday reiterated that the Congress-led UPA Government would address all the concerns of Seemandhra people while bifurcating Andhra Pradesh to carve out Telangana State.
Talking to reporters after meeting Congress president Sonia Gandhi here, Srinivas said that the Centre was aware of the apprehensions expressed by the leaders of coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema regions. He said that the Congress party would never do injustice with any region. He said that the focus would be equal development of both the States after formation of Telangana.
Appealing the people of both the regions to maintain peace, he said that the geographical bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh should not divide the Telugu people and efforts should be made to ease out prevailing tension.
Earlier, Srinivas briefed Sonia Gandhi about the present political situation in the State, especially in view of ongoing agitation in the Seemandhra region.
