The first phase of "Telugu Jaati Atma Gaurav" bus yatra launched by Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu concluded here on Thursday.
Launched on September 1 at Pondugula of Dachepally mandal of Gurujala constituency in Guntur district, Naidu extensively toured Guntur and Krishna districts while addressing several meeting in protest against the way Congress-led UPA Government announced the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh. Having completed the first phase of bus yatra, he returned to the State Capital on Thursday morning and is likely to rest for the next four-five days before resuming the yatra.
The TDP chief also held a meeting with the party leaders at his residence after his return. Beside discussing the impact of first phase of bus yatra, he is also believed to have a possible visit to New Delhi to meet Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh and other leaders on the bifurcatin of Andhra Pradesh issue.
Naidu has originally planned to cover all 13 districts of coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema regions in 35 days through bus yatra.
