The hearing on the bail petition of Ysr Congress Party president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy in the Disproportionate Assets case has been adjourned to September 18.
The CBI Special court, which admitted Jagan's bail plea on Wednesday, adjourned the matter to September 18 following the request of Central Bureau of Investigation seeking more time to file its counter petition. While asking the CBI to file its counter before September 18, the court adjourned the next hearing.
Jagan had applied for bail after the four-month deadline set by the Supreme Court for the CBI to complete its investigation came to an end on September 9. A day later, the CBI had filed three chargesheets in connection with the case.
The Kadapa MP, who was arrested by the CBI on May 27, 2012, informed the court that he was in judicial remand for over 15 months and did not interfere or influenced the CBI's investigation.
