The Parliament building was rocked with the slogans of Samaikhyandhra on Tuesday with the MPs and legislators staging protest both inside and outside the House.

While the TDP members stalled the proceedings of both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha with their demand to "Save Andhra Pradesh", the Congress MPs and legislators held dharna before the statue of Mahatma Gandhi in the Parliament premises. The TDP MPs entered the House sporting T-shirts with the slogans "Save Andhra Pradesh" and disrupted the proceedings leading to adjournment of both the Houses.

About 60 legislators and MLCs, who originally planned to stage dharna at Jantar Mantar, met at the residence of Lok Sabha MP Magunta Srinivas Reddy's residence on Tuesday. After discussions they changed the strategy and entered into the Parliament premises by obtaining visitors' passes.

Those who participated in dharna include Union ministers K Chiranjeevi, Killi Kruparani, Kavuri Sambasiva Rao and D Purandeswari and MPs, state ministers and MLAs.
