Pradesh Congress Committee president Botsa Satyanarayana on Wednesday claimed that the Congress party has won over 2,700 seats in the first phase of Panchayat elections.
Talking to reporters here, Botsa thanked the people for voting in favour of the Congress party and attributed the victory to the successful implementation of welfare schemes by the State and Central Governments. Stating that the Congress party would return to power after next general elections in 2014, he said that the Panchayat polls have shattered the electoral dreams of both TDP and YSR Congress party.
Speaking about Telangana, Botsa said that the Telangana issue was not related to Panchayat elections and its solution was pending with the Centre and not with the State. Reiterating that he was in favour of united Andhra Pradesh, he said he would abide by the decision to be taken by the Congress High Command.
