AICC General Secretary and in-charge of AP Congress Affairs Digvijay Singh on Monday propelled the hopes of formation of Telangana State.
Addressing the PCC office-bearers meeting at Gandhi Bhavan here, Digvijay Singh reportedly said that a concrete decision on Telangana issue would be taken in the next meeting of Congress Core Committee to be held in the next 10-15 days. Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi will also participate in the meeting.
Digvijay Singh informed that party would take the opinion of leaders of all the regions into consideration before announcing its decision. Therefore, he advised the leaders to represent their views, if any, to Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and PCC President Botsa Satyanarayana, as they too would be attending the Congress Core Committee meeting.
The AICC General Secretary reportedly recalled the memories when he was the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh and the State was bifurcated. He also spoke about issues like river water sharing, geographical nature of the two regions and other technical issues. However, he advised all the leaders to maintain calm over the Telangana issue.
