PRP to contest 60 divisions in GHMC polls

Hyderabad,Nov 9:The Praja Rajyam Party (Prp) which decided to field 60 nominees in the ensuing Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) elections,after assessing its electoral strength, has released the list on Monday.Party president K Chiranjeevi issued Form-B for 60 candidates on Monday although the party had decided earlier to field 50 candidates for 50 divisions.As per rule, a candidate can contest on the party symbol only after he/she submits Form-B certified by the party.The last date for submission of Form-B is November 10, which is also the last date for withdrawal of nominations.Earlier,the Returning officers rejected the nominations of two Prp candidates in Balkampeta (Lalithabai) and Rahmathnagar (Ibrahim Lincon) divisions.

The party meeting also decided to release a manifesto for the city and division-wise manifestoes for the respective divisions where the party candidates were in the fray.Meanwhile,Prp president Chiranjeevi will campaign for the party candidates in the GHMC elections for ten days beginning November 12 from 3 pm to 10 pm. He is expected to expose the misdeeds of the ruling Congress during his campaigns.A monitoring committee of the party is likely to finalise the route map for Chiru’s tour in a day or two.As per the route map the cine star will campaign in 5 to 6 divisions a day.Chiranjivi’s brother ‘powerstar’ Pavan Kalyan will also campaign in the GHMC polls.
