Hyderabad,Nov 7: Praja Rajyam Party supremo and actor-turned-politician K Chiranjeevi on Saturday stated that the funds collected for the flood victims through roadshows in the state would be handed over to Chief Minister K Rosaiah in a programme ‘starnight’organised by cinestars on Saturday evening.Talking to media persons, the PRP chief said Rs 32,48,654 was collected in the form of donations for the flood victims and the roadshows received tremendous response in the north coastal region,particularly the port city of Visakhapatnam.He said that thousands of people including women and children literally choked the route by standing all along the roads awaiting his arrival and for donating funds for flood victims.

The cinestar expressed his gratitude to the people of the city for their warmth and affection for their tremendous response to the roadshow. “The people’s gesture will rejuvenate their spirits. We should ensure that we are behind the hapless victims in their hour of crisis,” he said.He indicated that the decision to raise donations for relief from other areas was yet to be taken.Chiranjivi’s brother-in-law and ‘Maghadheera’film producer Allu Arvind said that the one-day collections of‘Maghadheera’film will be donated to the Chief Minister’s relief fund.
