Dharmana appears before court

Minister for Roads and Buildings Dharmana Prasada Rao on Monday attended the CBI court in the YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s Disproportionate Assets case.

Dharmana’s continuance in the ministry has come under severe criticism from many quarters including a minister. Though he resigned immediately after being named in the case, it was not accepted and the cabinet has taken a decision not prosecute him.

The cabinet decision was returned by Governor ESL Narasimhan for reconsideration but still he continued in the cabinet and is being attending official work.

The CBI has contended that there need be any permission to book the minister and quoted a Supreme Court ruling.
