Hyderabad,Nov 6: The Centre is not contemplating any Operation Greenhunt to weed out the Maoists from agency areas of Andhra-Orissa- Border.Thisis all the hype created by the media.Union Home Minister P Chidambaram reiterating the statement that the Government is always ready for talks with the rebelMaoists said that the Union Government has not deployed any special forces to eradicate the Maoists.The Union Home Minister who was in Hyderabad to attend as the chief guest for the passing out parade of IPS officers at the National Police Academy on Friday made this statement.Interacting with the media he said that the Centre will always assist the states in fighting the Maoists or any terrorist groups.
The Government is well equipped to face any situation either from the terrorists or Maoists or anti social elements. Our main aim is to provide security to the citizens of the country so that they can live in peace and harmony. So far we haven’t received any intimation from the Maoists regarding talks.The Government is open for talks with the Maoists and it is for the Maoists to respond either positively or negatively,he further added.Earlier in the morning the passing out parade of the 61st batch of IPS officers was held at the National Police Academy.Home Minister P Chidambaram who was the chief guest reviewed the parade. Clad in ceremonial Police uniforms they turned out an impressive march past.
Andhra Pradesh Home Minister Sabita Indra Reddy also graced the occasion.Speaking on the occasion,Chidambaram emphasized the importance of the honesty, discipline,integrity,commitment and professionalism among the police personnel to achieve success.In all 99 IPS probationer officers passed out successfully after completion of their training.Of the 99 IPS probationers who successfully completed their probation,five are from Andhra cadre.
