Hyderabad,Nov 5:Minister for sports Komititreddy Venkatreddy lashed out at the functioning of Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA)on Thursday.Resenting the manner in which HCA is conducting itself in organizing big event s like the one-day international matches,he boycotted the ongoing one-day international cricket match between India and Australia at the Uppal Sadium.Hitting out at the HCA, the minister said it is really disgraceful to know that the tickets are being sold in black market thereby denying the genuine lovers of the game an opportunity to watch an international event.It is really pathetic that even the HCA president, G Vinod is not available to give any clarification,the minster remarked.I will be writing a strong letter to the Board of Control for Cricket in India a about the lethargic f functioning of HCA, he further added.
Referring to the Uppal Stadium he said that late Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy has allotted a land worth Rs 200 crore at free of cost to HCA but they did not utilize it properly.I will hold discussions with the BCCI on this matter, the minister said.Tickets being sold in the black market is not a new thing in the history of HCA.This is a perennial problem for HCA.The poor public can at least hope that the Government will wake up this time and do something to rectify this recurring episode whenever an international match is played in Hyderabad.
