Opposition parties reacted sharply to the state budget presented by finance minister Anam Ramnarayan Reddy in the assembly here today.
It is not like a budget but it sounds like an action plan, YSRCP Deputy floor leader Sobha NAgi Reddy said. The house was misled by the agriculture budget, she said.
TDP leader Ashok Gajapathi Raju said that the allocation for agriculture was dropped drastically. The allocation for power sector was also reduced, he said and took objection to the way in which the action plan for agriculture was introduced.
Ravula Chandrasekhar Reddy said that it was a breach of privilege on part of the minister for reading out the action plan on agriculture.
Lok Satta leader Jay Prakash Narayan said that in the last budget 80 lakh students were shown as studying in government schools while this year the figure has come down to 70 lakh. Agriculture and power sectors got a raw deal, he said.
