Hyderabad,Nov 3: The Andhra Pradesh High Court on Tuesday stayed the operation of the arrest warrant against the Devarakadra legislator and senior Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader in Mahboobnagar district, Mrs Seetha Dayakar Reddy.The High Court stayed the arrest of the MLA and ordered for further investigation into the case pending against her. The arrest warrant against the MLA was issued in connection with a case on the suicide of a local mandal agriculture officer,Ms Rajeswari. The agriculture officer committed suicide on October 14.
Ms Rajeswari, in her dying declaration recorded by the magistrate, has mentioned the names of the MLA, MPP member Ms Bharati Reddy and ZPTC member Mr Pradeep Goud.According to police sources, Ms Rajeswari stated that all three people’s representatives were intimidating her to include the names of their followers for sanction of sprinkler systems and allegedly threatened her if she failed to do so.As the news spread, MsBharati Reddy has surrendered before the Mahaboobnagar district Superintendent of Police G Sudheer Babu and she was formally arrested. However, Mrs Seetha Dayakar Reddy obtained anticipatory bail, which came up for hearing on Tuesday.
