Hyderabad,Nov 2: Minister for Major and Medium Irrigation,Mr Ponnala Lakshmaiah,refused to make any statement against the charges levelled on him by MLC Konda Murali.Answering the media who approached him on the allegations leveled against him,the minister said I need not respond to all the allegations leveled against me.I am working to fulfill the goals set by Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy thorough `Jalayagnam ‘ projects.When you are on a special,mission you will be facing many criticisms from within the party and from outside the party.
At such times I should not focus on the remarks made by the critics but I should go ahead to reach the target.’’The minister in a lighter vein brushed aside the remarks made against him and said all these things are common only time will tell the truth.`At any cost we will complete the Jalayagnam projects in the state,’’ he added.As reported earlier Mr Konda Murlai,a member of the Legislative Council,on Monday levelled serious corruption charges against the,Mr Ponnala Lakshmaiah, and demanded a CBI probe into the spending of funds on Jala Yagnam programme.
The MLC alleged that the Jala Yagnam programme has failed miserably only due to the corrupt practices of Mr Ponnala Lakshmaiah and that they demanded that only a CBI probe can bring out the truth.These outbursts of the Konda couple have shocked the Congress circles here.
