New Delhi Nov 2: Putting to  rest  all the  speculations about  the truck  with the  Praja Rajyam  Party in the state   for the forthcoming  Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation elections scheduled for November 23,Congress GeneralSecretary in-charge Andhra Pradesh, Veerapppa Moily ruled out any alliance with the PRP.Interacting  with  the  media here on Monday the Union law minister said ,At the moment there is no truck with  the PRP  for the  ensuing GHMC elections. It is true that PRP was ready to forge an alliance with the Congress for the GHMC elections as appeared in a section of the media but  as there are different  opinions  in the party about the alliance, the High Command has opted out.

Expressing confidence that  Congress will win the maximum seats in the coming  GHMC elections, the minister said ``when there are  differences of opinion among the Congress leaders about the alliance with PRP then it is better to avoid such controversial issues at a critical juncture like this. We are running short  of time and we cannot afford  to  have  such  issues at the back of our mind when we are going to polls. The problem  of alliance with PRP  now being  put to rest , the  leaders in the state should join hands  and  work for the victory of Congress party,’’he added. On the choice of candidates he said `that party MLAs under whose constituency the respective wards fall, will have  their  say in  the selection of candidates.Of course  they will take  a decision  to this effect in consultation with the party leadership in the state.
