The Andhra Pradesh High Court on Thursday rejected the regular bail petition of Ys Jagan Mohan Reddy in the disproportionate assets case.
The hearing on the bail petition was completed on January 22 and the judgment was reserved for today. While Niranjan Reddy represented the Kadapa MP, Additional Solicitor General Ashok Bhanu argued for CBI. The court upheld the CBI’s contention that the bail petition was untenable.
The high court also rejected Jagan's plea that time frame be set for CBI to complete its investigation. The court said that they should have prayed the Supreme Court about it.
While Jagan’s counsel contended that custody period cannot go beyond 90 days CBI contended that it needs more time for investigating the case as there was no proper cooperation from government’s side.
Jagan Mohan Reddy is presently lodged in Chanchalguda Jail since his arrest on May 27.
