TDP MLA Paritala Sunitha, along with 17 other party legislators, lodged a complaint under Privilege Motion with Assembly Speaker Nadendla Manohar against the police raids at her residence in Anantapur.

The TDP legislators met the Speaker at his chambers in the Assembly premises here on Friday. Talking to reporters later at the Telugu Desam Legislature Party office, TDP MLAs D Narendra, Revanth Reddy and Sunitha alleged that the police acted in an inhuman and high-handed manner. They said that the police raided Sunitha's house in the middle of night and the police team was not accompanied with a women police constable or officer. Even the Superintendent of Police remained inaccessible when contacted during the raid.

The TDP MLAs alleged that the Congress Government was trying to implicate Sunitha's son Sriram in a false cases despite the fact K Sudhakar Reddy himself clarified that there was no enmity between the two families. They said that the raids were aimed at diverting the attention of people from the real problems being faced by the people.

Speaking to the media at the NTR Trust Bhavan later, Sunitha broke down while expressing apprehensions of threat to her and her children's lives. She said that similar raids were conducted before her husband Paritala Ravi was murdered.

The TDP leaders said the Speaker has assured them that he would seek a report from the Anantapur district SP within 48 hours and take further action.

It may be mentioned that the police has named Paritala Sriram, son of Sunitha and Paritala Ravi, as an accused in the attempt to murder case of Congress leader Sudhakar Reddy. Sriram, who is the accused No 14 in the case, is absconding since the registration of the case.
