Hyderabad,Oct 30:Leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party are busy screening the selection of candidates for the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation elections scheduled for November 23.According to the party sources the Bjp leaders had already shortlisted 30 to 40 candidates who will be fighting in the elections. The names of the remaining candidates will be finalized on Friday night or on Saturday.Only those candidates who have the caliber to withstand tough opposition for other parties and who have good standing in the local areas have been picked. In view of the forthcoming elections the leaders met in the Bjp office to chart out the strategies to be adopted.
The leaders who attended the meeting are Bjp AP wing president Bandaru Dattratreya, floor leader Kishen Reddy, senior leaders Indrasena Reddy and Baddam Balreddy.In view of the GHMC elections the Bjp is coming out with a manifesto to woo the city voters. MLA Kishen Reddy speaking to the media said that Bjp will fight the elections on its own, it will not have any alliance with any other political party. Explaining his party’s commitment to the development of the city he stated that both Congress and the Telugu Desam have shown step-motherly treatment to Hyderabad. In our door-to-door campaign we will play up this issue with the local voters.
