Cancel Polavaram tenders: Kavitha

Telangana Jagruthi President, Kavitha has demanded the State government to cancel the tenders for Polavaram project in wake of allegations on irregularities and the status of bidding companies.

Kavitha met top officials in the Chief Minister’s Office and submitted a memorandum to this effect here on Monday.

Polavaram tenders have been in the eye of the storm for long. After lot of resistance, some clearances were acquired and the contention that many tribal hamlets will be wiped out in the Khammam and other districts were still being debated when the tenders issue raised a stink in allotment.

The first time tenders were cancelled following wide spread protests from TDP and others and the in the second time allotment also there were some allegations and the Indian Embassy in Russia did not give a favourable report on the bidding company and the credentials or qualification came under fire.
