MLAs not to contest GHMC polls

Hyderabad,Oct 29: None of the sitting MLAs will be contesting in the forthcoming Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation elections scheduled to be held on Novemebr 23, according to PCC President D Srinvas.Speaking to the media here on Wednesday the PCC chief Said that the  Congress will set up its candidates in all the  150 divisions of Ghmc.There is no manifesto as such for the  Ghmc  elections.

The selection of candidates for the Ghmc will take place in a couple of days from now.During the  cabinet meeting on Thursday Chief Minister K Rosaiah urged his Cabinet colleagues to gear up for the Ghmc elections.The CM had a detailed discussion  with his colleagues on the  forthcoming Ghmc elections and asked the Ministers to strive hard  for party’s  victory. Much time  was allotted  for Ghmc elections during the Cabinet meeting.
