Hyderabad, July 24 :-
The Andhra Pradesh Finance Ministe,rMr K Rosaiah on Friday affirmed that the Rupees 1.03 lakh crore plus budget presented in the State Assembly on Friday for the fiscal year 2009-2010 was the 'best possible in the given circumstances'.
The finance minister, who presented his 15th budget, an all-time record by any Finance Minister in India, said that he was very uncertain in the beginning when he started the budgetary exercise for the current fiscal.
With the results of General Election 2009 in his mind he said that, he was apprehensive about his ability to increase the budgetary outlay in the wake of the global financial crisis, which also had an impact on the state.
However, there appears to be some respite and the financial crisis has not deepened further. Economists world over indicate a look up from the financial crisis over the next few months and the State government too is expecting the financial situation to improve.
''In the present situation, I could not have done a better exercise,'' the Finance Minister said in his post-budget reaction.
