Telugu Desam Party Deputy Floor leader Gali Muddukrishnamma Naidu on Saturday demanded that the YSR Congress party clarify the main objective of Sharmila's "Maro Praja Prasthanam" padayatra.
Talking to reporters at the Telugu Desam Legislature Party office here, Muddukrishnamma Naidu asked whether Sharmila's padayatra was for the people or was it the result of fear from TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu's "Vastunna Mee Kosam" yatra. Describing the Congress and YSRCP as two sides of the same coin, he said both the parties together were trying to form a front against Chadrababu Naidu.
Reacting to the allegations of corruption against the TDP chief, he said if Chandrababu Naidu indulged in any irregularities then why Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy did not take action against him during his six years' stint as the Chief Minister. On the contrary, he said YSR Congress party president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has been lodged in jail as he was prima facie involved in acts of corruption. He said instead of leveling baseless allegations Naidu, the YSRCP leaders should focus on proving Jagan's innocence in a court of law.
The TDP leader also alleged that YSRCP's silence on the allegations leveled by India Against Corruption against Congress president Sonia Gandhi's son-in-law Robert Vadra proves that the party was moving alongside the Congress party.
