Former Minister Dr P Shankar Rao on Thursday claimed that he was dropped from the State Cabinet only due to personal differences with Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy.
Talking to reporters at the Assembly's media point here, Dr Shankar Rao alleged that Kiran Kumar Reddy started indulging in corrupt practices soon after assuming charge as the Chief Minister. He said when he opposed his activities, the Chief Minister dropped him from the cabinet. However, he predicted that the Kiran Kumar Reddy too would lose his post in the next one month.
However, Dr Shankar Rao said that his differences had nothing to do with his loyalty towards Nehru-Gandhi family. He said he would continue to be loyal to the Nehru-Gandhi family and would defend it on all fronts.
The former minister also demanded that the State Government distribute bonus among the employees on the occasion of Dussera festival.
Dr Shankar Rao also ridiculed the statement of Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi wherein he claimed that only Bhartiya Janata Paty could provide security to the Dalits, minorities and backward classes. He reminded that it was BJP's Government that engineered worst-ever communal riots in Gujarat in 2002. Stating that minorities and other castes were safe only during Congress rule, he advised Modi to stop making baseless and false claims.
