Rajya Sabha member N Harikrishna on Tuesday claimed that Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu was taking up the "Vastunna Mee Kosam" padayatra for the sake of people and not to gain political mileage.
Talking to reporters at Hindupur, Harikrishna said that Naidu's padayatra was aimed at understanding the different problems being faced by the people. He alleged that all sections of the society were suffering due to the wrong policies of the State Government and therefore, it was essential to reach to the people to learn about their sufferings and work out solutions. He said that Naidu's padayatra was never aimed at gaining political mileage and hoped that the padayatra would be a grand success.
Regarding Telangana issue, Harikrishna said that the TDP has already clarified its stand on the statehood issue and now the decision has to be taken by the Centre.
Harikrishna was among several leaders who came to Hindupur to join Naidu in his 117-day long padayatra.
