A delegation of TRS, BJP and JAC members on Thursday called on Home Minister P Sabitha Indra Reddy and appealed to her to give permission for the upcoming Telangana March held on September 30.
According to reports, the Home Minister assured the delegation that she would take a decision on the March after meeting Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy. Talking to media persons later, Telangana Nagara Samithi president Dr Nagam Janardhan Reddy said that the March would be held peacefully if the government gives permission for the same.
Nagam criticized the government for slapping bind-over cases on Telangana activists fearing violence during Telangana March. He demanded that the government immediately lift all bind-over cases and release those who were arrested illegally. If the government fails to release the activists unconditionally, he said that the people of the region would revolt against the government.
TRS Floor Leader Etala Rajender said that the March would be organized in a violent free manner if the government gives permission for the same. He reminded that violence took place in Million March as the government failed to give its nod for it. He warned the government of serious consequences if it tries to dilute the agitation by resorting to arrests and causing obstructions.
