Minor Irrigation Minister T G Venkatesh on Saturday stated that he would abide to the Congress high command decision on the Telangana statehood issue.
Talking to media persons here, Venkatesh said that whatever decision the Centre takes on the Telangana issue, all Congress leaders have to abide by it. He said that the leaders from Rayalaseema and Coastal Andhra would meet the High Command separately on September 24 and September 25 and appeal to protect the interests of their regions before taking any decision on the bifurcation of State issue.
Stating that Rayalaseema region was backward, he said that the government should take steps for the development of all regions equally and protect their interests. He admitted that the delay in taking decision on Telangana state issue was affecting the progress of State apart from damaging State's reputation.
