'T' resolution in assembly not possible: Govt Whip

Government whip Toorpu Jayaprakash Reddy on Monday stated that there was no need for a resolution in the State assembly over the Telangana statehood issue.

Talking to reporters at Assembly media point, he said that the House could not pass the resolution as there was no majority for passing the Telangana resolution. As the Centre has been dealing with the Telangana issue, he expressed confidence it would take a final decision on it soon to put an end to uncertainty.

Whatever decision the Congress High Command takes, he said all leaders from various regions including Telangana, Rayalaseema and Seemandhra would definitely hail it. He demanded that the government register police cases against Telangana Political Joint Action Committee Chairman Prof M Kodandaram for issuing threats of serious consequences against Civil Supplies Minister D Sridhar Babu and for making provocative statements disturbing law and order.

Jayaprakash Reddy suspected the hand of TRS behind such serious statements made by Kodandaram.
