Nara Lokesh, son of TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu, on Wednesday hoped that the TDP would return to power in 2014 elections.
Talking to reporters in Naravaripalem of Chittoor district, Lokesh said that only TDP could defeat the Congress party in the elections. Referring to Praja Rajyam Party's merger with the Congress party, he said other opposition parties like the YSR Congress party in the State lacked public support and therefore, would merge with the Congress party. He said that only TDP had the strength to counter the Congress party at all fronts.
Lokesh said that the proposed Padayatra of his father would further strengthen the TDP across the State. He also clarified that the he would continue to serve the party as an ordinary worker and would not seek any position. He said that he had served the party in 2009 elections and also contributed in recently held by-elections. He said he would work for the party in 2014 elections without holding any post.
