Peddapalli MP G Vivek on Monday appealed to the Congress in-charge of State Ghulam Nabi Azad to take an early decision over the Telangana statehood demand.
Talking to media persons after meeting Ghulam Nabi Azad at the Lakeview Guest House, Vivek said that he has clearly told Azad that it would be very difficult for the Congress party to survive in the Telangana region if the party fails to take an early and favourable decision on the statehood issue. “The chances of party's survival are very bleak if the government delays the decision on the statehood issue in the name of consultation process,” he said.
Meanwhile, Vijayawada MP Lagadapati Rajagopal appealed Azad to keep the State united. Stating that the State has achieved rapid strides in agriculture and industrial sector under the united State, he opposed its division. He said that vested elements were demanding bifurcation to get mileage on it.
Pradesh congress Committee president Botsa Satyanarayana, Assembly Speaker Nadendla Manohar, Deputy Speaker Mallu Batti Vikramarka and Minister for Labour Danam Nagender also met Ghulam Nabi Azad.
